Erdre footpath

Since the reign of Francis I, l’Erdre has been reputed as the most beautiful river in France. Nantais shipowners were not mistaken about the beauty of this site, and since the 16th century have built here castles, and bourgeois houses embellished with parks enriched by all sorts of exotic species. o On the left bank, it is now possible to walk along the Ile de Versailles to the Parc de la Chantrerie. o On the right bank, this continuity exists between Port Barbe and Ile de Versailles. o Thanks to a river shuttle at Port Boyer and to a pedestrian crossing on the Jonelière bridge, it is possible to avoid promenades more or less long (3770 m and 7240 m) on both banks of the Erdre river.
